So I went shopping today with my Aunt for all the things I might need for the trip over to Indy. Its funny how most the everyday things you get always seem to come in travel size. According to my Aunt I looked like a kid in a toy store picking out whatever I wanted.
I still have to check where the bus is that I have to take but over all I think I am all set to go. Looking forward to seeing the exibits and games the convension has to offer. The ride over about 19 hours so I am making sure to have something to do on the way. I might bring the laptop just to play some Doujin fighting games, can’t get enough of those.
Well back to my Golf game. Though I think I was losing in it, lol.

I should probably give this piece a title but I was never good at names. The inspiration for this work was from an advertisement I found in an old Magazine. The name escapes me since I only ripped out the one page. I found the layout to be unique and wanted to replicate the same style while advertising my own site. Created in Photoshop with a variety of different fonts, the hardest part was getting all the letters to fit properly in place. So I went out today with three destinations in mind, Chess Shop, Cinema Tropical, and Forbidden Planet. Had some trouble finding Chess Shop as it is located on the lower part of manhattan that stops using numbers in there street and avenues but I managed somehow. This small shop offers a number of different chess set designs along with some sessions for you to play against others. For a small fee you were give a table and set to challange your opponent. I myself know little of chess and just know the basic movments of each peice so before I decided to be destroyed in a game by any of the veteren players there, I bought an electronic version of the game to try and give me some hope of winning. After some practice I will head back and try my luck.

My second destination didn’t go as well. Seems the location of Cinema Tropical doesn’t exsit anymore or has moved to a different location. The building number that should have been it was just an apartment building. I did find another theater but failed to get the name. They had several independent films playing. Some thing to check out later on.
Our last destination was Forbidden Planet, a small Comic/Pop Culture store offering a variety of entertainment choices. Browsing around I couldnt help but be in awe of the number of books, figures and pop culture novelties. The one thing that caught my eye was the Robot book series, containing a number of short stories written in Japanese. Even though it was in an unknown language, I was still able to pick up the meaning of each comic sence from the art work alone. The Robot series has always been an inspiration for me and many other. I look forward to returning here to get myself a volume some time.
